Among the many good reasons to have children, one of them has to be the permission you get to act like a kid again yourself. There’s something about becoming an adult that makes us think we need to be stuffy or formal to get by in life when in reality we could learn more from loosening up a little bit. Fortunately, the adorable father-daughter duo in this clip is here to remind us of that fact.
The man in question is Dave Crosby and his adorable little girl, Claire Ryann. As the clip begins, Dave starts strumming Randy Newman’s “You’ve Got a Friend In Me” from the original Toy Story. While the song begins well enough with Dave showing off his guitar and singing chops, things get taken up a notch when Claire steps in to sing the second verse.
While any video this cute is sure to get traction online, what makes this one even more awesome than usual is Claire’s emotional delivery—and a surprisingly good ear on top of it! Not too surprisingly, this family’s YouTube channel is full of more great duets as well as a slew of other videos showcasing Claire’s star qualities. Definitely, watch the whole thing to hear the pair end together. If you’re anything like us, you’ll be sure to watch it again and again.
Although this video is as cute as can be, believe us when we say that the family’s adventures definitely don’t stop there. Claire’s powerful voice takes her and her whole family to Los Angeles for a special appearance on a talk show known for discovering cute, talented children. Still, we’ll leave that to the readers to discover for themselves.
Above all else, this story is an inspiring showcase of the love shared between a father and daughter. As this clip and the others on the family’s channel show, there’s no limit to how far we can go when we believe in ourselves—and when we have people around us who support us and our dreams. Be sure to click through and explore Claire’s voice for yourself.
